Carolina Superstars offers baton, jazz, hip hop, acro, ballet, tap, kinder twirl, kinder dance, & kinder tumble classes to girls ages 2-18. The overall mission of Carolina Superstars is to instruct classes in a nurturing, positive, and safe environment that builds self confidence in children of all ages.

Carolina Superstars Instructors

Ansley Cartee

Ansley will graduate Clemson University, College of Business with a degree in Management in December of 2017. She is currently the Clemson Feature Twirler where she has performed at all Clemson football, soccer, and basketball games as well as other on campus events. Ansley even twirled at the National Championship game where the Clemson football team won the national title. She has served as the Corresponding Secretary for Alpha Delta Pi in addition to being an advocate for bullying prevention. Ansley is an active volunteer for the Clemson LIFE program. Prior to attending Clemson University she won the National Twirling Championships in 2011. This placed her on Team USA. She traveled to Switzerland in 2012 for the World Baton Twirling Championships and received a silver medal. Her twirling abilities allowed her to receive the Carolyn Creel Feature Twirler Scholarship to Clemson University.

Marilla Riggs

Marilla Riggs is a 25 year old Tennessee native currently living in Anderson, SC. She began herMarilla Riggs is a 25 year old Tennessee native currently living in Anderson, SC. She began herdancing at the age of 3, and by the time she graduated high school was trained in ballet, pointe,jazz, tap, modern, and musical theatre styles. Marilla continued her dance education andgraduated with her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2014.Post-grad she worked as the Administrative and Production Assistant as well as an apprenticefor Christopher K. Morgan & Artists, a contemporary company based just outside WashingtonD.C., while also teaching at several studios. She got married in 2015 and is now the proud momof her daughter, Malia Kate, who was born in March 2017. Marilla is so excited to get back toteaching, and she is so happy to be joining the staff at Carolina Superstars Baton & Dance!

Ashley Swaney

Ashley is from Hartwell, Ga and is a student at Clemson University majoring in Marketing. She has been twirling for 12 years and counting. She was on the Hart County High School marching and competition majorette line. Ashley is going on her third year being a Tiger Twirler for Clemson University Tiger Band. She performs pre-game and halftime shows in Death Valley, as well as traveling to various away games. She has had the honor of twirling for the Tigers in two National Championships and multiple bowl games. In the off season, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and playing bass guitar for her church.

Genna Pesce

Genna is from Howell, New Jersey and a student at Clemson University majoring in Food Science and Human Nutrition. She has been dancing since the age of three and is trained in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical/contemporary and tap. Genna was accepted into her high school's dance program, FPAC, along with being on the dance team. She was on a competitive dance team for 10 years. She also modeled for Revolution Dance Wear's costume catalog. At Clemson, she dances with the Tiger Dancers in Tiger Band for pregame and halftime shows. She traveled to away games to dance and support the tigers this past football season and danced at the Fiesta Bowl and National Championship games. During her free time, Genna loves to do yoga and strength training classes. During summers in New Jersey, she teaches mommy and me classes, babysits and enjoys the beach with friends!

Fay Patat

Faye is from Charleston, SC and is a nursing student at Clemson, SC. She has been dancing for 15 years and is trained in ballet, jazz, and modern, tap, and contemporary. Faye was accepted to School of the Arts middle and high school where she majored in dance. She continued to dance in college as a Clemson Tiger dancer were she performed during parade, pregame, and during half time. Faye also traveled to the away games to perform and performed at the bowl game. She loves sharing her passion for dance with others and has been teaching dance lessons for over five years.

Carson King

Carson King is a junior at Clemson and third year Tiger Twirler! She is majoring in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a minor in Business Administration. Carson has been twirling since the age of 6 and has competed in twirling competitions for years and loves field twirling. Her favorite part about twirling at Clemson has been performing at 2 National Championships with her best friends!
